    Remington R-15

I'm feeling the itch to build a varmint gun on the AR platform and really like the camo finish the Remington R-15 rifles come with. Since I've never seen one of these in person, are the R-15's upper and lower sections standard and can work with any other brand of lower/upper just like Stag/Spikes/CMMG/Etc.....? Before I order one through a dealer I'd just like to know they use standard "mil-spec" parts just like any other real AR15 so that I don't wind up with a rifle that is not interchangeable with anything else. With that issue aside, what do you guys think in general about these rifles? For about $1000 or so out the door, they appear to be a pretty decent value too, in my opinion. Pretty hard to build a predator/varmint AR for less than that when you consider the camo finish. Also considered is the Nikon coyote scope.

Yes they are standard. The rumor is that they are actually re-branded bushmaster rifles (owned by the same parent company).

Yeah...I heard they are re-branded Bushmasters too. To me personally that makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Maybe it might to you though, who knows. I've been wanting one for quite some time now but just haven't had the funds to buy one. I was talking to one of the rangemasters at my local rifle range a while back. He actually overheard me telling someone that I planned on buying one. He mentioned to me that he owns one and absolutely loves it. He said that the only mod. he did was a Timney drop in trigger (about $200 it think), and he claimes that he can hit a dime consistently at 100 yards...no problem. Just makes me want one even more!

I picked one up about 2 years ago and its pretty accurate out the box. I found a used one here that looked pretty brand spankin new inside and out from the marketplace. I use it as a good plinker and when i bring buddies out, only thing added was a nice scope/bipod , pistol grip with palm grip/plate and a quad rail gas block.

Heres my buddies 12yr old son shooting mine for the first time, it was his first time to the range.
