Century Arms used to sell / custom order gold AK pistols for about $2500 - 3000 (8 to 10 weeks for delivery, if I remember correctly). Century did make a mention that they did not recommended and carried no warranty on the gold plating if the AK was fired, as the plating would probably get damaged by firing it.
Hard chrome on the other hand is a different story, since hard chrome is less prone to wear than steel.
