    BB (Budget Betty) is done!

OK after a few months of researching (most of it here on CalGuns) and reading everything I could find on building an AR-15 I've finally got the majority of my parts ordered.

Budget Betty as she is named (AKA BB) starts with an Aeroprecision stripped lower that I have already got out of jail.

    On order awaiting arrival

PSA LPK with Magpul MIAD handgrip and Strike industries (thank you calguns promotions) trigger guard (I have small hands so wanted the handgrip to be adjustable).

Complete upper is a PSA CLHF 1/7 twist 16 inch with MOE handguards and rear MBUS.

A 6 way adjustable stock here from Calguns commercial forum.

    Radlock BB

    Strikeforce Vortex red dot.

So far into this build I'm into it for about $900 that has been paid out.

Any comments/opinions are welcomed and thank you all for the information I've obtained from the Calguns folks!

EDIT: Budget Betty (BB) is built! I decided for my first build I wanted some help so went in today to TDS Guns in Rocklin for their lower build class. $25.00 and for using their tools, expertise, and getting the obligatory t-shirt got her finished! Glad I went for help I was so nervous I was shaking! The rear take down pin kept flying all over the store thanks to my nerves! I did find it every time though!

Next plans are for a few pictanny rails for the MOE handguards and an AFG.

I have both a bullet button and a radlock. I thought the radlock would be pretty cool, but I actually don't care for it much. When you loosen it enough to drop mags, it sticks way out. I prefer the bullet button with the bullet button wrench as your freedom tool.

Also, 10/20 Pmags are my preference for magazines. I like them better than the 10 round cproducts steel mags. They are easier on the brass and look cooler too.

Thank you for the suggestions. I was wondering about steel versus Pmags (thats the one things I've not looked into to much).

That sucks about the Raddlock sticking out! I was thinking a red one would break up the all black features of my evil black gun, but that will now probably go out the door.

Don't give up on the Raddlock just yet, it only sticks out when you're using it as a regular mag release (i.e. Not in CA or not on a centerfire upper). Unless you're going to be out of state mostly , this shouldn't be an issue as the Raddlock would be in it's tightened down ("CA Mode").

I have a 10/20 steel mag and loads of pmags. They all function great in my rifle. To me the looks of the two are the only deciding factor. Which ever looks better to you.

OK that sounds better. I will probably not be out of state much. Now if they only offered it in pink

About the mags I could care less how they look. I know I would like at least one pmag for pictures, but on the range who is really looking right? Well I don't know a middle age woman shooting an AR-15 might get some looks?

I'm just trying to leave enough out of my budget to get plenty of ammo. That is the next major search!

the whole point of getting a raddlock is to be able to easily, with just a screwdriver, switch from BB to normal button. If you don't plan on doing this much or at all, then get a BB...unless having the raddlock red is that important. Is it worth an extra $20?

OK two 10/20 pmags ordered from Golden State Tactical.
Got a gun bag off of amazon on the cheap.

Now still deciding on the Raddlock versus standard BB.

And ammo! Oh my poor bank account LOL!

Got her done and edited my first post with build details! Now time to go range test her!

Came out great! How do you like the PSA upper? I was thinking about picking one up soon.

Looks good, might want to move that rear sight back a bit if you can. But overall, nice and clean and functional looking.

I Like the PSA upper but I've not had the chance to fire it yet. Seem really well built and the gunsmith in my class was impressed with it. Its the hammer forged barrel they have.

I think I need to move the Red dot forward maybe I just stuck it on to see how it looked. I think if I move that mbus back any its going to sit over the charging handle. Will give it a shot in a little bit to see if it will go back without overlapping.

Nice. I like the AR raddlock. When I go out of state to shoot it makes it so much better dropping mags.
