Anyone parkerize at home that can help me out?

Anyone parkerize stuff at home and have left overs or gonna do some parkerizing.
I need some help getting it parked. I don't mind paying a couple dollars, free would be even better.
    Here is a pic.

With parts that small you can buy a small batch of park solution from brownells and park them on your stove.

Although I wouldn't recommend it: From what I hear, some people even park in their microwaves. (Metal that is completely submerged will not spark in the microwave)

I have some phosphoric acid left over from the time I tried it.
I used some pennies with the Cu filed off to expose the underlying zinc for a gray parkerizing. My attempt didn't work well but you can try it if you like. Some advice:
            1. Use a trial piece before doing your real piece. Measure the metal thickness before and after parkerizing to judge if you are leaving the part in the acid bath too long
            2. Clean the part very well and rinse with distilled or purified water. Any dirt or oil residue from finger prints will show up in the parkerizing.
            3. Make sure the bath is hot enough before putting the part in
            4. Make sure the stainless steel or glass container holding the acid bath has enough volume to accomodate the acid, part, and the foaming that will start when you drop the part into the acid.

I'm in Fremont and if you want some phosphoric acid, I can give you some.

Where are you located? Do you want the bare metal piece parked black or dark gray? I'm experimenting with my oil bath to get that greenish olive park that you see on Garands.

I paid $15 to Adam on the FAL files (guy that does gunparts guy's parking for his FAL kits) to park a bolt carrier and charging handle for my FAL. Very good results, he gets a nice dark finish that looks great.

He has great feedback over on FAL files, user name is adam762

                or email- adam762 (AT) hotmail
