    need help with an ak47

never owned an ak before and needed a little help trying to purchase one. I've looked at LW and CWS seems like the wasr is the most affordable, any suggestions on other places to browse for selection and better prices? on a budget.

That price breakdown is a little misleading, because you aren't factoring in any of the cost associated with building it. Paying someone with the tools to build it, or buying the tools and trying to build it yourself.
Either way it is still gonna cost a little more to complete.

That said, I would also recommend "building" it. You'll end up with a better finished product than the Wasr

In my case, the cost of assembly was $30 for 10 TIG welds.

          Hi.

I also want to know how to drill the holes on the receiver for the front trunion too. I mean how to mark and center correctly. Thanks.

The NDS-3 receiver already has holes for the Romanian trunion.
            Thanks,

I was looking for a couple neat projects for romy kits.
              here are a few ideas.
e.german ddr akm. east german furniture is cheap to buy and easy to find.Nice budget build.(you will need to use the rear stock extender or fixed stock and mag lock)

              uzbek/russian made khyber pass.
nodak spud has the receivers for this one. Before it would cost alot of money to have it cut for that buttstock. russian wood is expensive as well as the buttstock.(you will need to fix the stock or add a long muzzle brake and a maglock)

Yeah I agree with everyone else...wasr isn't the greatest...well....let me put it like this...it's better to build your own...the NDS-3 receiver is probably the best platform to work with....build your own, or have someone else help you...you won't be sorry.....

Hi, I'm new to the forums and new to AKs, but how are the pre-assembled Yugo M70's? I heard they're a significantly better quality than the WASR's, and I don't have the confidence, machining skills, or tools to try building my own yet. Are the M70's at least somewhat comparable to a home-build Romy G?

Most important thing to check when buying a Yugo AK is the bore condition, they were used a lot in the 90s with corrosive ammo so many have poor bores. Whereas the romy-g kits are generally like new.

With the Yugo's you usually have to trade a nice barrel for some history, many of these rifes are truly "battlefield pickup". One of my M70B1 kits had a split in the buttpad with hair still lodged in it and had a dark substance spattered in the vicinity as well.

                        pre-assembled you mean century?
Some of the B2 looked bubbed-the gastube is a bit further forward because of rear sight block? other than that, pretty clean. I think the B1s are built better.

The yugos are beefier and a easy way to collect 3 designs in one. rpk, old ak, and akm thrown into one. So it is pretty cool. The best way is to have one built with a nice original yugo barrel/kit, much stronger than the century usa barrels. Only downside no chrome bore.

The wasr is nice being all romanian made and chrome bore. Only thing is it's missing dimples on the sides but it comes with a scope mount.

                        Buy all 3
