    Fal smith in So Cal

I got a (RAW) DSA SA58 congo / 16in barrel with a (welded on) muzzlebreak.

Like to replace MB with a Flash hider.

Anyone in So Cal besides Enterprise Arms who can do the job for me?

Toss the barrel and get a new one, chances are if you cut and thread it the groups will be very bad.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you may never need one again.

Post your need on the fal files, you'll get help.

I personally would not have Entreprise "gunsmith" anything

                  Fal

I know its not Socal, but I highly recommend Rich.. he's done 3 Fal jobs for me and all were quick and painless

Evan's is local and has the RAW permit.. I'm sure he can do the work but I haven't used them so I can't recomend them..

Evans only works on AR type rifles?

                      AKJunkie,

I don't know Larry personally, but he came highly recommended. Now I'm back to square one on the FAL. Looks like Gunplumber in Arizona is my next best bet which I doubt I'll regret from his reputation. I mostly just wanted someone nearby enough to drive over, see his operation and his queue of rifles ready to go out the door to see if he was as good as many claimed.

I called, they are definitely out of business. He worked out of his house and apparently decided to retire. I believe his son was working with him for awhile, but it looks like he moved on as well. Too bad.

Yeah, just give them a year and a few tries. lol

I made the mistake of having them build me an AK.

ARS built a couple of fal's for me...beautiful workmanship and finished on time...his reputation is correct.

Rich Saunders is great. And he seems to work more on 'human time' than 'gunsmith' time.

My Izzy FAL build (Stg58 lower, FALO HB upper, 922r compliance, reg'd AW) is a thing of beauty.

I've seen some Ariz, Response System guns too - they're wonderful.
