I'm sure this is not new to most here. However, I though many would find the presentation cool.

there's a 6 page long thread about this very same vid here.

The video has a clear bias toward the M16. The tests weren't all that scientific either, no mention of the condition of each rifle: bore, bolt, etc... It was also painfully obvious that the guy shooting the AK wasn't really putting much effort into aiming it or anything, and didn't seem to know more about it than your average Calgunner." Formerly we suffered from crime. Today we suffer from laws" - Tacitus (55-120 CE)Comment

First of all..
That movie = Ye Olde
Second of all I agree with whoever said that guy was yanking that trigger on the AK like it was a squirt gun.WTB: Winchester /Miroki 1895 .30-06; No1. Mk. III SMLE .303 British; M96 Swedish Mauser 6.5x55mm; M39 Finnish Mosin 7.62x54r; S&W 625 .45 ACP; Glock 17.I purge the wicked. The impious madness must end. I shall be the instrument of Armageddon. I wonder if the guy shooting the AK would volunteer to stand at 200 yards while someone else took potshots at him... since it can't even nick a mansized target he should have nothing to worry about right?Comment

i dont post much on this site but read the posts almost daily. I cant believe how they talked $h!T like that about the AK. I own both AR, AK and shot numerous others and from what i have seen both in stock form shoot nearly the same.
At least they show that the AK hits like a freight train compared to the
M16. if my AK shot like the one in the video i would not own it!!!!.
On a side note this is the best site on the web for us poor M.F.s that live in this gun hating state. If only our forefathers could see this country now..Comment

The AK definitely lacks accuracy compared to an AR15- it's the nature of the design, but c'mon, not hitting a man sized target even once (aside from the lower corner nick) off the bench? Methinks they had the elevation on the rear sight set wrong- bullets were passing cleanly underneath.

Yeah, good points guys. No one is saying that the AK is as accurate as the AR in stock form, but yeah, they must have been working with a pretty beat up example of one. The whole point of the thing is to reliably hit a man size target at 300 meters." Formerly we suffered from crime. Today we suffer from laws" - Tacitus (55-120 CE)Comment

It's just Americans bashing the AK. I was arguing with my friend today and he brought up the discovery channel thing. He thinks all AK's are like that, I told him that the M16 is more accurate but the AK has acceptable accuracy but really makes of for it in reliability. He still thinks the M16 is better in everything but hey thats his opinion. Soon I will have an example of each and I'll let him shoot both and see what he thinks.
I was just thinking that if the AK had been invented by an American and the M16 been invented by a Russian everything would be the other way around and everyone would be bashing the M16 and praising the AK.Comment

The AK had already been invented by an American (well Canadian, really). It's called the M1 Garand.WTB: Winchester /Miroki 1895 .30-06; No1. Mk. III SMLE .303 British; M96 Swedish Mauser 6.5x55mm; M39 Finnish Mosin 7.62x54r; S&W 625 .45 ACP; Glock 17.I purge the wicked. The impious madness must end. I shall be the instrument of Armageddon. True.... Good old Mickey Kalashikov even said in an interview that his action was based on the US M1. If you look at that rotating bolt mechanism, then compare to the M1, you see the similarity. Although, its a similar system of operations I would hardly say that the AK was "invented by an American." Aside from that rotating bolt, there is pretty much nothing else in common besides gas operation. It would be like saying that the FAL was invented by a Russian because the SKS aslo has a tipping bolt." Formerly we suffered from crime. Today we suffer from laws" - Tacitus (55-120 CE)Comment

I'm sure this vid has been posted before.. but, here is one with the AK in the top 10 combat rifles at #1.
I think this vid shows some of the good aspects to AK's that are not covered in the AK vs. M16 video.
