Bolt guns with iron sights? What's out there?

I'm thinking about getting a centerfire bolt gun. It seems like most new production models come set up for scopes and don't even have iron sights. I really like shooting with irons and I'm not hunting or looking for MOA accuracy. It seems like most of the rifles on this category are surplus battle rifles like the Mosin Nagant and Mauser 98K. I'm definitely considering these, but are there any new production bolt guns with iron sights that I should consider?

Off the top of my head

    Remington 700 BDL
    Browning X-Bolt with open sights
Ruger Scout (I kind of like this one) http://www.ruger.com/products/gunsit...le/models.html
There is also a Tikka, but don't remember the model

Don't forget the K31 if you're interested in milsurps still.

CZ 527 and CZ 550 come with iron sights. I like iron sights as well, and ended up buying a National Match AR15.

I found the Stevens 200 (Savage 110 w/o accutrigger) a few years ago, the rear sight is plastic, but I would add a peep anyway. Ruger and Remington also catalog open sights.

Most dealers can special order them, but remember that dealers need to make a living too (costs more $$$). Of course none of them compare to the quality and value of Mil-Surp rifles.

Given time and money, any bolt action can have iron sights. That being said, I like PNW and Warner rear sights and Riles front sights, but I highly doubt that is what you want.

I know you said new... but check out a Spanish FR-8... Find nice one and you'll have no disappointment...

Cool, there are more rifles with iron sights out there than I knew about. I'm think I'll go check out the Ruger Scout. This might be a hard call compared to the milsurps though. I could get 5 Mosins for the price of one ruger. Or 1 Mosin and a shotgun or handgun. Or something nice for my wife (haha).

The Spanish FR-8 and Swiss K31 both look like good options too. Where is the best place in CA to buy milsurps? I've seen them at Big Five, but I would think there's a better source somewhere. I've also seen them on table at gun shows, but I wasn't in the market and didn't pay much attention. What do you think of gunshows as a place to buy milsurps?

I remember reading that long guns over 50 years old are C&R and can be sold face to face with no DROS and 10-day wait. Is this correct?

You best bet would probably be the Calguns marketplace.

If your patient, you may be able to find an 03A3 with Aperture sights for a good price. The FN Mauser is nice too.

I had an Enfield that I really enjoyed shooting, but finding GOOD surplus .303 was a pain in the *ss.
