    Camouflage Patterns/ Stencils

Anyone know what's a good place to get some adhesive camouflage stencils for spray painting rifles?

The most promising i've found so far is probably BulldogArms. The patterns from Lauer don't quite do it for me..

I got a set from Lauer, and they charged me 25%(!) of the order for shipping. Fortunately I've been able to use them 3 times.
I've been going to order a couple from Bulldog, but you have to "join" their website to make a purchase.
I've known daredevils and I ain't got nothing against them.....its just they're all dead.

I'm pretty sure the guys from LTM use the Bulldog stencils...and they do some fantastic work. I've read about people having issues with them not sticking as well as they'd like, however. Some people have had good luck making their own from blue painters tape.

Cool. I just ordered two stencils from Bulldog to try. If it doesn't stick.. I have a can of that 3M stuff I use to stick foam together in my cases We'll see how it turns out! Figured I'd do it since I'm going to steel bed my rifles.

I don't have a usable precision rifle right now since i'm waiting for my new scope to come in (IOR Tactical 10X 56mm). Going to send in my super Sniper to Bushnell to get it looked over before I sell it.

hey I've been thinking of camoing my rifle out also. are you just going to use spray paint or use duracoat or alumahyde?

I also wanted to know if steelbed works with aluminum bedding blocks? I want to bed my rifle soon also....

I'm also looking into getting an ior but I want something variable power and illuminated

Guys, plain ol' Krylon (flat camo - OD, Brn, Blk, Sand for our AO), blue painters tape and maybe a few local brush clippings work wonders. Unless you're going digi that's all you need and about two hours time.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I've glassbedded a few times so I've made my share of mistakes (nothing major) already. Steel bed should be easier to use since it isn't as runny as glassbed. Shouldn't have a problem using it on the aluminum bedding block.. why would there be?

As far as camo goes, i'm using aluma-hyde II. OD, earth, and coyote I believe. I'm just going to use the stencils because i'm more detail oriented than I am artistic

I ordered my digi camo stencil from bulldog, should be here soon. I will get the Savage all painted this weekend and post pics. Only thing I am having a hard time deciding on is the colors. I want to do desert so i was thinking about 2 colors of tan and 2 colors of brown...

All the research I have read online makes me go for Krylon. Duracoat just seems like too much of a pain in the ***. I have asked a couple people about the durability of their Krylon jobs and they say it holds up well.

My Krylon jobs are holding up fine. Its easy to do and just as easy to remove and redo. There's a quote some guy has over on SH that I love:

"Krylon the s*** out of it...this ain't a beauty contest."

The rifle I'm having Randy build for me will have a one color duracoat finish on the receiver and barrel, but thats it. The AICS will get Krylon treatment.

If you Krylon guys need stencil material, while your at Home Depot or Wall-Mart buying your paint stop by the cabinet and shelving department and pick up some peel back shelf lining paper. If you don't want to do it yourself or want a professional job done drop me a line.
