M&P15T What do you guys think?

Since S&W is running their military rebate special, I was thinking about getting one of their ARs.

I came across one for $927 shipped, which would bring the total to $827 after S&W rebate. Would you guys say that this is a good way to go for this much money or is there anything that you would recommend instead (Roughly in same price range). I am not opposed to building one either (still around $827).

I'm looking for something light, accurate (1moa or better) and with A3 flat top.

So what are your opinions on the M&P15T?

          Same here.
          I love my MP15T.
No jams, no misfires, no problems. Great looking high quality rifle with the SW stamp.

            you'll wish you hadn't

SW will probably go out of the long gun business in the future, then the long guns will be highly collectible.

Thmpr: why did you sell it?

OHOD: would you consider the accuracy acceptable?

Well it's currently out of stock but if it's the best value for $827 then I'll wait until it's back in stock. Unless someone can point me in another direction.

bingo..... did not shine so well on the accuracy department. But it does shine in the looks department.

I've had mine for several years, and I love it! It's much more accurate than I am.

I have one as well although it is different than the 15t you are talking about. There are actually 2 different 15t models this year one with an inexpensive no name rail for right around 1000 and then the model that comes with the troy free float rail. I love mine and shoot 3 gun matches with mine and no probs. I have put around 5000 rounds through it with not one ounce of a hick up. Early M&Ps were pieced together from different manufacturers but now all parts are made by S&W. So i would not fear buying any M&P

                        Good Luck

Yeah, I realized last night that there are 2 models, one with the TROY quad rail and sights and another with Magpul MBUS and a 10" Patent Pending, Anti-Twist, Free-Floating Rail (I'm guessing made in house...idk).
Are non chrome lined barrels more accurate than chromed barrels? I'm not looking to put a really high round count thru this, so I would be willing to sacrifice some longevity for accuracy if that is the case.
