New Savage Axis .308 not ejecting Snap Caps...normal?

I just brought home my Savage Axis .308 and some snap caps. I figured i would begin to get to know my new rifle by loading the magazine and chambering and ejecting some rounds. This is my first bolt action rifle and for some reason when i chamber a snap cap and pull the bolt back the snap cap is not eject and just basically flops out of the chamber and sits on top of the next snap cap. Whats the deal? Do snap caps not cycle in bolt actions?

who care if it ejects snap caps or not. if live round eject without a problem your rifles fine.

People, stop playing with your guns in your house and go out and shoot them! If they don't work when you are shooting them, there is a problem. If they don't cycle right when you are not shooting them, try shooting them.

Sorry, I am still frustrated with the customer who said his C Products 10/10 magazine didn't work right. I sent him another one only to discover he hadn't actually shot it yet, it was just cycling funny in his living room.

That's normal for a savage. My 10 FCP HS will extract the snap cap but not eject it. Only use one at a time to avoid double feeds and keep cycling the same one. You can get a lot of dry firing practice with out ever having to load the mag. My buddies 10 FCP-K does the same. Remington 700s do eject them.

Yeah sorry for this thread i would delete if i could. I was only concerned becaue i have a set of snap caps for all of my weapons. I think they are great for teaching friends and brothers/sisters how to use the gun before we ever get to the range. ALL of my other guns have loaded and ejected snap caps without fail just like regular rounds. So i was a little concerned when my brand new Savage was not doing this. I am happy that it ejects brass live rounds perfectly.
