AR .22 RF conversion kit recommendation?

I'm getting a 1-9 twist AR15 upper and would like to get a .22 rimfire kit for it. I've had issues dealing with Ciener so I'd rather not buy one of theirs. Any suggestions on good functioning kits? I realize that a 40 gr bullet isn't best stabilized by a 1-9 twist but am I going to get shotgun patterning from .22s through the upper?

If you buy a conversion kit the uses the .223 barrel ,Yes, the accuracy is not that great. Only a seperate dedicated upper for 22lr only will the accuracy be better. The cheapest route is the conversion kit. They are fun though. Check out CMMG. Try to use Blackdog mags.

You'll get better accuracy out of a Daisy Red Ryder than a conversion kit. The good thing about the CMMG kit is that when you finally give up on trying to practice your marksmanship skills with it because every 3rd or 4th shot produces a flyer, you can just drop that bolt into one of their uppers and gain the benefit and satisfaction of actually hitting what you're aiming at.
Having said that, though, the Tactical Solutions complete upper is more accurate than the CMMG upper(from what I've expereinced).

I have the CMMG kit, and I love it! I ran it through a tactical carbine course, and not only did I put 500 rounds through it for the day jam free, but I was able to consistently hit steel tartets @ 50 yards.

Look, if you want to do precision target shooting, go buy a souped up .22 with a match barrel and fancy laminated stock. But if you just want to plink or save money (like I did), then I would highly recommend buying the conversion kit. I didn't want to spend $500 on a dedicated .22 AR lookalike rifle, or upper. I spent $150 on the kit, and haven't looked back.

I have the below CMMG kit on my A4gery. It has a few extra bells & whistles but all you really need is the bolt & mag.

I have a CMMG stainless 22LR conversion kit, and I use it in my BCM 16" Mid-Length upper with 1-in-7 twist chrome lined barrel.

The accuracy was perfectly acceptable. I shot it at a Chabot multi-gun match and was able to hit A-zones and poppers at 50 yards with iron sights.

The poppers wouldn't fall from just one hit so I dumped a mag at them from 50+ yards, and ding ding ding ding ding ... ding ding ding ding ding they went down.

I shot bulk Federal 36-grain copper washed HPs from Wal-mart and there was significant powder and lead build-up on the compensator. I was able to scrape it off with a sharpened brass rod.

Really - I have never seen a BB gun that would shoot into 1" at 50 yards. Yes, my Criener kit will do that all day long. With Black Dog mags, it jams less often then my 10/22.

I know it should not do this for many reasons, yet it does. YMMV.

I know people hate J Ceiner, but I've had mine for 10+ years without a single issue form day one. Works great with American Eagle and Federal Champion.

Thanks for the replies. I'm getting a Ciener kit from a Calgunner. I have Ciener kits for my 1911 and Browning HP; they are good kits it is just that Ciener himself is a jerk.

I don't use coversion kit. I just ordered a 20" A4 22LR upper from Compass Lake Engineering. It has a Douglas Premium barrel with match sights. It is not cheap, but it is pretty much the best you can get.
