BLM or Forest Service land by Temecula??

Any public land you can shoot on close to Temecula? Relocating back to California from Mississippi (free state), and need a place to shoot. Not much into ranges. I still have my pre-bans from when I lived here before, and my OLLs are wearing Solar tactical paddles and muzzle brakes.

There's not much in what I would call close proximity that doesn't have weird county ordinances fuggin with you about what you can shoot and if you can shoot at all (someone familiar with Riverside county shooting laws of recent vintage please chime in with specifics). I grew up there. You'll have to drive a ways to get unrestricted.

PM me your email addy and I'll send you the BLM surface management map for the area (the Palm Springs quad). If you're ok with about a 2.5hour drive, I have an AWESOME shooting spot I'll share with you. It's worth it for the freedom to shoot as you'd like. FWIW, there's some blm near beaumont but I don't know that you can shoot there. If you do, be "careful" as the Scientologist headquarters is just a couple miles away.... wouldn't want any stray bullets landing there. (yes, I'm being facetious)

There's a place to shoot just west of Perris that is BLM land. You can shoot a couple hundred yards but that's about it. The only down side is that the dry grass is about 5 feet tall waiting to burn and there's a lot of people on the weekends who have minimal to no experience shooting a gun...... Ie... take your chances with someone pointing a gun in all directions. The only other place I can think of is near Anza Borrego. About an hour drive east of Temecula.

Ya, Western Riverside County is pretty much off-limits.
The border runs through the Hemet area, but you also have to be aware of the Anza Borrego state park area, as well as Ocotillo Wells OHV.

But south of Temecula, there is one outdoor range not far from Palomar, and there used to be open shooting areas east of Hwy 76 and 79, but there is also a lot of Indian Reservation land out there which is off-limits.

If it weren't for the stupid county regulations, there would be a TON of great places to shoot along the 15 in your area.

There is also a private range near Corona.

Rainbow and Pala ranges are near, I am looking also and found out about Bee canyon. I asked in one of the gun shops and they recommended it and the place by Perris.
