    .308 DPMS style upper help

Ok my next build is going to be a .308 DPMS style build. I already have a CMMG .308 MK-3 and will build from their.

I am looking for a 14.5" w/ perm attached muzzle break or a 16" mid length upper, not carbine. I am looking for a basic gas front sight base.

I see DPMS & Fulton Armory uppers and am not to fond of thier styles, what I am looking for is what bushmaster has come out with in the pic below. I do not see them selling just the uppers though.

I guess what I am asking is; is there a company that sells uppers for a dpms style 308 that looks like this pic?

You should just drop Bushmaster an email. They are pretty responsive and will help you with your needs.

You can get an 18" midlength bullbarrel and have Adco cut it down and reprofile the barrel. I purchase my DPMS 18" SASS barrel, A3 upper and BCG from JSE surplus. Next is the troy trx extreme handguard low profile version.

Plenty of places make mid length uppers. Depending on quality and DI vs piston, DPMS offers everything from 16-24" barrels with combinations of 6" - 12" handguards/rails, POF offers the same but only out to 20" barrels. Just gotta shop around a bit to find a place that has what you're looking for in stock.

It's not that easy. I've been playing the .308 parts that will fit game for a while now and no one can confirm or deny what barrel nut/delta pack you would need to make that work.

Yeah, I will do that today. I saw a couple of threads about that rifle being sold in cali and they say it can but nobody has it here.

True, I can build one from parts, I was just hoping to buy a complete upper in that version.

Yes, there are a lot of versions out there, there is just not the version I am looking for or have not found it except on the bushy rifle. Also the POF upper is not an instant fit to the DPMS style lower. The take down pin holes on the POF are smaller then the lower.

Yeah, hopefully there will be more variety in the 308 sometime in the near future.
