Saw one of those at the gunshow over the weekend. Isn't the magnet technically attached to the rifle and can be used while attached?

The "screw" is loose enough for a paper clip not to bend? I have only ever used raddlocks so I don't have and "imagination" experience with any BB like this one. I still don't see how this configuration could be any easier than a flatheaded raddlock set screw in the case the shipped/ provided tool is lost or misplaced. No doubt its cool and if a Calgunner gets money or royalties from this than that would be enough for me to get one for my next build, otherwise I will be sticking with my raddlocks
        Hmm...

I think the main purpose for those are to only be used while in a free state. Otherwise they are sitting in your range bag or bugout bag in case of shtf situations. Installing that magnet deal while the weapon is featured and in California is a big no no and will result in being sent to the good ol' pound-me-in-the-***-prison
          Hmm...

A magnet attached to the bullet button inside the state of California on a featured rifle IS an assault weapon and a felony.

If you can use your finger(ie no tool) to detach the mag, then a tool is not required and the rifle is illegal. If you must hold and use a tool to detach the mag, then your rifle is non-detachable mag and legal.

Do not buy that stupid magnet device. It is going to get someone sent to prison. The idiots selling them at gun shows will tell you its legal. It is absolutely NOT.

Its legal while not used, and I don't see the harm in having it for a SHTF situation, other than a complete collapse of government and society, it should never come close to your featured Rifle while in Ca.

The folks selling these just spin the reality and don't tell people that you can't use it in Ca with a featured rifle. That or everyone who buys them completely misunderstands the laws and what the vendor says, because so many people seem to think using these are completely legal in Ca.

The minute that magnet gets a hold of the BB that BB is no longer a tool requiring locking device, as the tool needs to be separate from the rifle.
              Hmm...
