    Saiga Question

Hey guys i got a standard 7.62x39 saiga and just ordered the bullet guide, my question is, am i still within the 922r crap? the reason i ask is because i have (2) 10 rounders one thermold ak and and one factory and (2) 5 round ak mags that i want to use in it, i also got (4) 10 round tapco ak mags that i was thinking about converting to make them fit, am i still legal? i do have the tapco forward handguard in my closet if i have to put it on, i just dont want to spend 30$ for a factory mag if i dont have to, i figure that this is a much cheaper alternative, oh and im NOT doing the conversion to it, i like the stock configuration

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me."

From what i understand the guide is not a 922r part but will trigger the ability for the rifle to take non sporting mags which triggers 922r. That is how I read it but maybe SJgunguy or one of the other AK gurus will chime in.

Even if it does trigger 922(r) the US made mag counts as three parts and just replace the forend handguard that you have and you are within your parts count. Also remember its not how many parts you add but how many you REPLACE.
But I being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softely, because you tread on my dreams.

yeah just make sure you don't use your stock saiga mag since it takes those 3 parts away.

              922r does not apply.

So long you are using 10rnd mags in the original factory sporter configuration, you are good to go.

922r only applies when you use >10 hicaps. However, that would bring up other issues.(ie. featureless)
