A couple of Cali legal MR556s...

Just shipped these off today, Raddlock gen-x and they're good to go. Any love for these on the forums? I was really impressed by them, haven't got to shoot one yet, but they handle very well, and look great.

Retail price is $2995.99. You should be able to buy one for $2500 or less. They have been slowly trickling out since SHOT 2011. Front rail makes for a pretty heavy rifle.

I think they could have chosen a different barrel profile, but they sure are sexy looking...

If I had the money i'd buy one.

It's simply too much money for what you get. No sights for that price? There is another $200... $400 if you get HK sights. I heard that the service life on those is only 10,000-12,000 rounds anyway...... that info is alledgedly from HK.

The front and rear sights are in the plastic bag.

According to G3Kurz at Hkpro, who worked at H&K for 20 years, the barrel life would certainly exceed that of a regular M4. According to G3Kurz, a M4 barrel has a service life under 10,000 rounds (before it fails to meet the accuracy requirements of 5" at 100 yards w/ M855 ammo). The MR556 barrels will certainly exceed 20,000 rounds and still shoot sub-1 MOA groups at 100 meters. I have talked to G3Kurz in person. I'm definitely not knocking fit, finish, quality, function, or brand name. It's just way over priced. Take it apart, lay out the pieces, and stick the HK prices on them.... each of those pieces is about 50% over priced for what it is. That's all. If it were a $2295 MSRP rifle like it should be, then I would have a change of heart.

LOL..... lay those out in my above "price the pieces" example above. You should get a damn Pelican case with custom shaped foam in it for the $3000 MSRP.

Rumor is that this (well, the military version of it) is what ended Bin Laden..

Do want.. but sure is pricey for an AR.. even one with HK on the side.
