    dust cover hold open spring

anyone know where I can get a black one? it's really annoying me that my very black and evil AR has this glowing steel spring on the side of it messing up it's mojo.
if there aren't any out there I suppose I could duracoat it, but I don't know how reliable that would be

None that I can find. I would just spray it with krylon or duracoat.

Sharpie or other marker should do the trick!

Your dust cover spring is "glowing"? Send it to me immediately, I'll dispose of the rifle for you since it must be radioactive.

You know, you could just... get it dirty? Besides, it won't matter when you get those bright brass colored marks on that nub that sticks out behind the ejection port. That'll definitely give away your position to the enemy.

*Gasp* Those brass marks are just so unsightly! I just had to put a piece of adhesive Velcro on my shell deflector just so those marks don't show up. Not to mention that it doesn't ding up the mouth of my brass so it's easier to reload.

I wonder if you can drop them into a parking solution so they won't be so.... bright.

Just strip the whole rifle and polish it match the spring...

250 rounds and and so far it's OK.
honestly I could care less about "tacticool" anything here, or how dirty it gets. but the spring sticks out like a sore thumb on an otherwise all black rifle.
