That's gonna be difficult because of the grip safety. I think the .45 version doesn't have one.

i was thinking the same thing about the grip safety.... couldnt the insert that goes in depress the safety like its being held 24/7? im not familiar with the UZI platform, nor how they work, but i think that would be easy.

I dont see any other evil features and the length looks ok, and i happen to have a couple 10/30 uzi mags for a 9mm ar.....

Oh god, ive already got an unbuilt lower and im dreaming up another project....

I have a registered AW Norinco Model 320 (chinkuzi). It's a blast to shoot and accurate, too. It's a bit unrefined as compared to the real thing.
If I were looking for another Uzi, I'd buy the Vector Uzi built on a Group Industries receiver, hence not listed. It 922(r) compliant. Remove folding stock and grip housing, ship to your FFL. $660 from East Coast Firearms. Warranty and all that.
Don't fill in a hideous butthole stock. Design simple "Bullet Button" mag release ala AK type covering up the release or better yet, "Monster Man" the grip with a shark fin on the arse end, and blast away with all them hicaps you hoarded up B42K.

I found a shop willing to transfer a single shot modified uzi pistol... (It's my next project after the AR pistol) I'd rather have an uzi pistol than a uzi carbine with some sort of goofy grip. (but thats just my preference)

I had a norinco 320 back in the day. I got rid of it. Machining was terrible (overall very rough), and I had problems with stove pipe, and other issues. You'd be better off getting a Vector CA-Uzi (when they become available again).

Yup I've heard more stay away from the Norinco uzi them anything...
Specially from my brother who has one. He hates his and refuses to take it to the range....

The Norinco Uzi is just plain too rough to shoot reliable. My brother told me his jams almost every 3 or 4 shots...

Does your brother want to sell his cheap? I'm looking for an uzi pistol to modify to a single shot to bypass the ca drop testing requirement

My experience with my Norinco 320 was that the internal parts (bolt, inside of receiver, etc.) were parkerized, and so needed to be shot a bit before smoothening out. It also helps to use ammo with a bit more giddyup, some +P or submachine gun stuff. I also bought the original .45 ACP kit (barrel, bolt & mag), not the grease gun/MAC grip setup (that will come later!), and it's a lot of fun to blast away!

                            I wouldn't dismiss a 320 just because it's a Norinco. Hell, their AK's are OK, right?

My Norinco SKS has yet to do me wrong. I've already ran about 300 rounds through it and the only time it did anything wrong were a few stove pipes. But that was only because I was testing out a Recoil Buffer, once I removed the buffer it had no problems.

But the Norinco Uzi's are famous for working like junk. It's because their internal parts are so rough. But I've read that if you smooth everything out They'll work fine. That's what my brother is going to do with his.
