    SPS tactical build.

    Hello,

I'm doing my first SPS tactical build here. Just wanted some info/feedback on my set up here. My SPS Tactical is a .308 I'll make a list of parts here below:

    EGW 15-20 MOA base.
    Millet TRS-1 4-16x50 Scope with mil/mil.
    Burris elite tactical rings XTR30mm.
Bell and Carson Medalist/tactical or classic.
    Harris bipod.
    '
I also have some questions regarding the mounting base. I found this from Sniper central.

"Here a little rule of thumb that I use for selecting the correct MOA for scope bases.

    If your scope adjustments are:

    > than 40 MOA < 60 MOA = 20 MOA base + Burris Signature Zee Rings; or 10 or 15 MOA base + any rings; or Zero MOA Base + Burris Signature Zee Rings.

    > than 60 MOA < 85 MOA = 10, 15, or 20 MOA Base + any rings.

< than 85 MOA = zero MOA Base + any rings.

The above are for 308 win or 223 rifles. "

My scope has a MOA adjustment range of 65 so either 15-20 would be good. I'm not sure what the difference preference would be? Maybe someone can explain that to me.

Hey whatever works man. That scope is 99$! I'm trying to go into this build with a attention to detail and methodical approach as i can.

Your list sounds good and always get a 20MOA base...

Check out the bushnell elite tactical series scopes cheap and great scopes for what you get.

20 moa base with any rings will work. your over thinking it. i have 20moa nightforce base and leupold QRW rings and have plenty of space to get out to 1000yds with my buckmaster.

For the same money I would buy egw O moa scope mount. burris tactical 30mm rings and SWFA 16X (rear focus) scope and you have 90 MOA total elevation adjustment that will take you out beyond 1000 yards (36-38 MOA 200-1000 yards comeup)

Scope is just powerful enough for silouette shooting 200-500 meters offhand, good for 100-200 paper punching or 10000 yard shooting prone.

You're really lobbing em out there at 10000 yards
