Featureless question

Say i take my featured rifle with a telescoping stock, set the stock all the way back to the last position and wrap a kydex grip around the pistol grip that extends out and atound the buffer tube. Not allowing the stock to be adjustable while the grip is in place.

Do you think this would fly instead of pinning the stock?

Thinking about making this so i can go featureless once in awhilr.

I wouldn't think so. If it moves, even an 1/8th it's adjustable. I remember reading about Benelli shotguns having the same issue.

it COULD be ok, provided it actually does not collapse, there shouldnt be an issue.

This would work but it's kinda going the long way around the barn.
Suggestion; drill stock and use a cap screw to keep it in place and then just put a grip wrap on it aka: Solartactical http://www.solartactical.com/AR15-A2...N-GRIP-136.htm
Where you put the cap screw is up to you.
One of my high round count AR's has this set up on a CAA stock.

I drilled through the release lever, into the plastic and took a cap screw out of the accessory compartment and screwed it in.
Need to adjust it, remove cap screw and adjust stock as normal and reinstall screw.
Done.
Not permanent, doesn't need to be. Still have to use a "tool".

There's no provision in Ca AW laws reqiuring anything to be permanent. However, I would not feel comfortable with a set screw. I suggest using stacked set screws and a little locktite.

The law doesn't say anything about using a "tool". So, I don't get why you are specifying that you have to use a tool.

I think your point is actually valid. Since, using a tool to adjust a stock to the shooter should keep a stock legally considered "fixed". But, there is no real legal definition and I don't want to be the test case.
