Marlin 1895 guidegun magazine tube conversion?

I got an 1895 guide gun and was wondering how hard would it be to extend the magazine tube?

I would also like to add the big loop lever too.
Some say that he once mooned two prostitutes just for a round of drinks, but wasn't surprised by the reply......They call him, the Hutch
Some say that he rode a dirtbike 7k miles across the country and that he once applied Bengay to his own testicles for a mere $50............They call him, the Hutch -Top Gear

The top gun is not a Guide Gun, it looks like the standard with a 22" or so barrel. So far as the loop goes, easy to install. I bought mine from Brownells, cost about $125.00 and was pretty much a drop in.

Its been done.... But with the introduction of the GBL it would probably be easier & cheaper to try and find the GBL tube.

yeah well I robbed the pics off of marlins web site.

Since the new guide gun comes with a 6 shot magazine I would like to convert my 4 shot to a six shot. What I want to know if it is possible to convert it myself or is this something that is better off sending to a gun smith.

I'm pretty sure you can do the +2 mag tube extension yourself.

I sent mine off because I wanted a few additional modifications.

The Lever is available from Midway. You should buy a new spring and plunger because the lever doesn't come with them and they're a PITA to swap over. If you can't do something this basic yourself you probably should sell it..

You can get the mag tube extended at Brockmans for $115

A muzzle brake will do little to tame the felt recoil from your .45-70 in barrel lengths past 20". Most powders used in loading, reloading the .45-70 have already burned up within 15-18". They look good but you won't get your money worth of reduced recoil.
