    Any rifle @ 200, 300, 600 yards - Sac Valley Shooting Center - May 14th

Sac Valley Shooting Center - May 14th (Saturday) - 200, 300, and 600 yard match

Standing - 2 sighters and 20 record shots at 200 yards in 22 minutes.
Sitting rapid fire - 2 sighters in 2 minutes, then 10 shots in 60 seconds with a required mag change. Then another 10 shots in 60 seconds, all at 200 yards.
Prone radid fire - 2 sighters in 2 minutes, then 10 shots in 70 seconds with a required mag change. Then another 10 shots in 70 seconds, all at 300 yards.
Prone slow fire - 2 sighters and 20 record shots at 600 yards in 22 minutes.

Many of us will be shooting AR Service Rifles (think Vietnam M16 configuration).

The good news is that anyone who is interested may shoot the entire match prone with a bipod, rear rest, and scope. With this setup, it will be a VERY easy match. All types of equipment are allowed (bipods, scopes, irons, rear bags), and will be classed accordingly for awards. Match fee - $20.

If interested, simply show up at Culbertson Cove (the building/camping area below the 1000 yard line) between 7:00-7:30 am. O'Connell will be doing squadding right there. It is a semi-informal match, with a chance to learn a lot about the range. Just show up with a 100 or 200 yard zero. There will be plenty of help with comeups from there. We typically have a BBQ immediately after the match. Hamburger or hotdog and chips and drink for $2.

This should be another easy opportunity for the tacticool shooters to fire a clean score - 600-60X, or not.

P.S. - can we get "tacticool" added to the Calguns spell check dictionary? It is a very descriptive and useful term.

I'll be there with the 6Turbo.

Be a shame if there's no other F-Open guns and I get lumped into F-TR....

Anyone who's wanted to shoot on the 1,000yd range at Sacramento Valley should come. As Ahnother8 says, the standard "High Power" targets have a nice, fat X-ring. At these distances, you'll get a feel for the matches and probably do better than you think you will.

You don't have to stand/sit, this year the match director is allowing the F-classes to shoot prone. ARs are good for the Rapid Fire strings.

If anyone has a Q they don't want to post, shoot me a PM.

Killshot Ok if you use the 6.5 I am useing the 223 f/tr on slow fire . Sounds like fun . Dont let the little 223 savage beat you on slow fire. That would be like a 4cyl beating a v8

He's technically full term, he can drop at any time. Dollars to doughnuts it'll be while I'm stuck in traffic during the morning commute.

Killshot never say never. You could get stung by a bee while shooting or your scope could break from a fall off your bumper

If I had sights I'd shoot this one.. hmm, maybe I'll put some glass on there.

So will most of you be using just irons on the service rifles? Trying to decide what kind of optics to use since I've never shot in a match yet.
