I have a Geissele match trigger and 2 RRA Match triggers
The Rock River arms "match" trigger is a super deal. I have heard of older ones having some trouble with wear, but I have not hear this about the new ones. I have fired my Rock River in my target .223 AR probably 500 times, dry fired another 500 times (maybe more), it feels the same as new. My Geissele Match trigger is certainly nicer then the Rock River, but for almost 3 times the price it had better be. My Geissele is fully adjustable for take up, over travel, engagement, and pull, so it isn't really comparable to a non-adjustable Rock River (or Geissele SSA) but you can't beat it on an AR. However I did have a problem with the Geissele disengaging the disconnector the last time I went to the range. After a shot I would have to pull the trigger a second time and then release the trigger to get the disconnector to let go. when I came back from the range I cleaned the gun and lubed the sear with grease (comes with the trigger) so I will see how the trigger does next time. The problem occurred on about one shot out of 3, and had never happened any other time that I had shot the rifle. Maybe a piece of grit got stuck on the sear.
One thing to think about when comparing some trigger jobs (as well as many single stage triggers from aftermarket sources) to a good 2 stage AR trigger, is that the good 2 stage triggers (RRA, Geissele, etc.) has a full power hammer spring but gets it lighter pull from a totally different geometry rather then counting on polished surfaces and lighter hammer springs. The lock time on an AR is already very long compared to a decent bolt action rifle. By lightening the hammer spring you make that 15+ms lock time even longer, as well as making a misfire more likely (especially with hard primers). The Geissele and Rock River trigger do not use lighter hammer springs, but they do reduce the lock time with lighter hammers. So with a good trigger you get both full power to the primer, and greatly reduced lock times, with a lighter pull and sharper break. I personally like the idea of matching a lighter firing pin to a lightened hammer. As a physicist I know that the mass of the hammer needs to be matched to the mass of the firing pin to get the most energy transfered to the primer. I have been running a titanium firing pin on my target AR-15 for about 6 months, and though I cannot say for sure that it has made any difference (since I never had a misfire without it) it does work well. I have not put a titanium firing pin in my LR.308 because I can't find one, but the Geissele trigger has never failed to ignite the primer on any ammo I have tried (and I am constantly testing ammo, from surplus to match to handloads.)
