local dealer said "don't do it" 22 Upper

    OK....another dumb question....

was at one of my local gun shops..(Lodi Ca.)...looking at a 22 upper with a 10 round mag

asked the dealer about putting this on my multi cal marked lower (JD) with out the BB , he said ....if the lower will still take a reg. (as in centerfire) upper , that I can't , I would still have to use the BB to keep it legal...

    is he right ?

it would seem that most of the dealers in Lodi are alittle slow on this info...

so...if I do install a 22 upper on a multi -cal lower with out a BB....I'm GTG , and would only have to reinstall the BB when going to a center fire upper...

Just like when you see people who have the lower that shows the fully automatic emblem, doesnt mean it will do it...

Besides a rimfire cannot be required to have a bullet button the AW law states Semi-automatic Centerfire Rifle.

I like that idea, I am sure it will get some looks and some laughs as well. I saw one that said simply "Try Me"... I laughed when I saw that at the range...

One question though related to this and something I am unsure of, are there Constructive Posession laws for AW's? meaning if you have a multi-cal lower and both a 22 and a 5.56 upper can they get you for that or is it different than the CP laws for SBR??? I know they can hit you with CP for the SBR issue, but never sure about the CA AW issue.

No, constructive possession doesn't apply on the CA level towards AWs. SBR yes but that's because it is a Federally regulated item.
