Bolt Extractor Buffer

I'm trying to remember the colors (1=black 1=blue): which one for 20" A2; 24" A4; 16" M4? Any reminders are appreciated. Oh, and what are advantages/disadvantages of using D-Fender ring w/ first two?

M4's use a black buffer which is firmer than the blue insert used in M16's

There is also a red insert, but I don't know what it was originally used for or who it was made by.

+1 black buffer, and might as well upgrade the spring, and add a crane-o ring also.

I polish and check the angles on the extractor too...

Ive seen them be off and RAM into the back of the case denting it before hopping over the rim, and then tearing the rim off on the way out.

Ive also seen charging handle latches w/the wrong angles peen the receiver to the point it snapped the latch off at the pivot pin..

Out of spec parts are fun.
