.22 Drop in Conversion Kit for an AR? Recommendations?

Any recommendations for a good quality .22 drop in conversion kit for an AR-15? Seems like a good option versus buying a complete .22 upper. Comments?

2 problems with drop in conversions
-.22lr is extremely dirty and will foul up your gas tube
      -.22lr generally has around a 1in 16 twist as opposed to the 1-9/7 of a .223

this means your .223 will get dirty faster, and wont be as accurate as a dedicated setup.
but the drop in kit will be cheaper ($100 or so)

I like the idea of the drop in as it can be kept easily in a pocket of a rifle bag and it is quite a bit cheaper... looks like some places have the stainless version for $149.00. I wouldn't be using it as a major plinker. More as an ammo alternative in an emergency.

I have at least 5000 rounds through my basic CMMG kit without any problems. I haven't done a thing to mine, no tweaking or polishing, and I haven't even cleaned it. I have kept it well lubed though.

I have heard it will dirty up you gas system, I shoot 30-50 rounds of 5.56 just before leaving to try and prevent it. I haven't actually noticed any extra fouling/grime when using my .22 kit over just shooting basic 5.56 ammo, but it doesn't hurt.

Accuracy does suffer but is not as terrible as most make it out to be. Out of a 14.5" barrel I can still put 25 rounds into an 8" circle at 50 yards with the majority of them under 6". Under 25 yards and the accuracy get much better. I used it to shoot gophers a few weeks ago, any gopher under 15-20 yards didn't make it far.

Great to save money but still shoot all you want. Mine stays in a side pocket of my rifle bag along with the mags so I always have it.
