    Rock River Arms Question?

Have a buddy that wants to bring some of his ARs to Cali, he wants to know if his Rock River Arms lower is legal?

    Thanks

I think one RRA lower is on the list banned by name and model.

EDIT- These appear on Appendix B of the California Assault Weapons flowchart.
Rock River Arms, Inc. Car A2
Rock River Arms, Inc. Car A4 Flattop
Rock River Arms, Inc. LE Tactical Carbine
Rock River Arms, Inc. NM A2 - DCM Legal
Rock River Arms, Inc. Standard A-2
Rock River Arms, Inc. Standard A-4 Flattop

The only lower that is on the OLL is the RRA LAR-15 but still a little muddy, like rromeo mentioned "tricky".

RRA is tricky. Some complete rifles are listed AWs even though the lower is still off-list.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

One of the only types on there that is a slight gray area.

So if any of them meet the configuration listed above, they could be considered an assault weapon.

However, it is going to say LAR-15 stamped on the side of it.

I personally just skip RRA lowers and use clearly off list lowers.

Among others I see RRA: NM A2-DCM Legal in Appendix B. But this is an upper right? So it's legal with an off-list lower but illegal w/ a RRA lower? What am I missing?

My NM-A2 is a RRA LAR-15. Except that it has a much better upper on it (ArmaLite) which cannot be confused with any other upper, as it is the only one with "AR" forged into it. The true original.
