need info on guns that fire 7.62x39

Hi i am new member here, I have a the 7.62x39 colt sporter and a ton of ammo for it, but i would like to have another gun that fires the round. So I am looking for suggestions on a reliable rifle, that is modern in the sense that it is synthetic rather than wood and that i already has rails. I would like to get as many suggestions as possible and sort through them my self.

    thanks for the help

Peach State Guns and Henderson Defense are advertisers on this site and both should have AKs/Saigas in stock.

You might also be able to find some on the CGN marketplace if you're patient. If you're really patient, buy a parts kit and build it yourself. You'll never go back to buying off the shelf again.

Buy an AK and never look back!

I would suggest a Saiga and when you feel necessary, convert it.

+1 on the Saiga 7.62 x 39, they go for about $400 and are a great value. The Mini - 30 is another option but not as good a value nor do I think it is better than the Saiga. You always have the option of converting the Saiga to a AK47 style rifle as well.

i am interested in the legality of the saiga in ca, and what would be needed to make it legal if it isn't legal stock. Also, i am interested in ARs as well. however they seem to be largely out of my price range. Also i am still somewhat unclear regarding these rifles legality in general, and how to make them legal. thank you for helping a newbie learn.

i have a unconverted saiga 7.62x39, 10 round mag. i think thats about it, unconverted saiga comes with a none-pistol grip stock.

below is the rifle i bought, mississippi auto arms was nice enough to install the bullet button for me before it was shipped over. with pistol grips, by law, you need to have the bullet button installed before shipment to CA or it is a federal crime. you have to chose between a detachable magazine or a pistol grip. one or the other

16" barrel is the minimum length you need, i got the 20".

recoil is nothing, i didn't have any problems shooting Sunday.

I was going to buy one awhile back it did not have or need a bullet button to be legal because no evil features. That's weird they made u have one. Only needs one if u convert it to a AK-47

are you saying i can remove it? removing the mag has been a big pain Sunday, i wasted a lot of time removing it every time it's empty. i'm still unsure since there a lot of people around Sac that have little to no knowledge of firearm laws in CA.
