In Socal and finished an AR 80% lower?

I'd like to do an 80% lower. I don't mind buying the jigs, bits, etc - I just would like someone that knows what the F they are doing walk me through it.

    Have beer, will travel.

Beer is crucial to the machining process

I've only watched it done, since its illegal to do it for someone else. Its easy. You don't need any special training. You just need access to a mill.

no you really dont, but having somebody near by to guide you is crucial if you dont have any experience. Basic technique is simple enough, but understanding how to set up the jig, which bit to use, what speed to run your machine at (if applicable) etc etc etc....

these arent the sorta things where you can really "fake it til you make it," unless you dont mind possibly ruining your jig, lower, bits, lathe etc etc

I've already got a couple 80% lowers in my possession (Quentin Defense) as well as another (Tactical Machine) on its way. I've already purchased the "Blue jig" and all the required drill bits & end mills.
If you've got access to a mill, lets hook up & get it done. Where in So Cal are you? I'm in San Diego

I'm in Santa Clarita. I have a friend of a friend that works in a machine shop. They may have a mill. I will find out.

In my own shop I have an industrial drill press, but i've read a mill is better.

Heh, I did my first 80% on a drill press.... was THAT ever fun. Won't be repeating that unless I absolutely need to for some reason, it's ugly inside, but works just fine.
