Impressed with the Serbu BFG 50 (Pics up)

Well I finally lucked out and bought a Serbu BFG50 in 50DTC. I had to post for the money its a hell of a weapon. Cleaning and break down were super easy. The accuracy was impressive. The rugged construction im still very impressed with. As im on a fairly tight budget these days. I also bought a Millet LRS1 for the thing and really like it too. As a matter of fact three of the guys that went to go shooting with me ended up going home and orderings the same scope. We were hitting big grape fruit out at what I would estimate to be about 300 yards and had a blast. If your on the fence id recommend Serbu. Also a big thank you to Mr. Kabota for letting me swing by his place and pick up some ammo on my way down south. It was great meeting you Ben!

        Aaron-

Welcome to the (very exclusive DTC) "club." I knew you would love it. The next thing you should do is put one of these on it: http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.asp...b-8e304e873dd6 ......You will get a much bigger blast (and the shockwave is nasty as HELL unless you are behind the rifle), but this thing literally sucks all the recoil out of your 'Iron Hammer of God' for much more precise and accurate shooting. Plus, you can shoot all day long without feeling like you've been hit by a train. Call me anytime if you need me to load your fireformed brass. Also, once you start loading DTC yourself, I have TONS of great load data to pass along. Congrats!!

EDIT: C'mon now.......Let's SEE that big, iron tube!!! Pics!!! Pics!!!

Glad it worked out for you all..
You can save .60ea on more ammo if you can send back the empties too!

Here's a video of the first Serbu .50DTC rifle shipped to CA being fired at Lytle Creek Range:

Ok Ok I should of know I would need pics. Well I had a couple from down in Blythe. The rings are still to high but after waiting 3 years to get a 50 I was a little anxious to shoot it.

OK this ones not of the 50 but I have to gloat on this one. This is the first time my 8 year old has used a optic or shot prone. He was popping active targets out to 200 yards with his new glass on. I am and was stoked!

Thanks Scott we need to get together soon! Ben i will most definitely keep that in mind and thank you again!

We make a great no-gunsmiting rear monopod for the BFG. PM me for details.

Great guns! I have the very first BFG Carbine in .50BMG.

It's the BMG I take to the range the most.

                      Love them!

Darin I will send you a pm. It shoots great. The recoil wasn't to bad. I would say it was a tad bit stiffer than the AR50 I had shot before it but im not 100% certain. All in all great gun in my opinion. There must not be to many around as my serial number is 25. River City Gun Exchange gave me a great deal as long as I paid with cash and I know they have a couple more.

That's good that you got a great deal at RCGE. Great store. Great bunch of guys. Great selection. And always crowded! ...Donald () runs a superior operation over there, plus he's a genuinely good dude.

Aaron- get in touch as soon as you are thinking about putting some top-shelf/match grade components in those now fire-formed bottles. We'll get you set up with some Lehigh machined brass projectiles & some VIHT 20N29 powder. You will be astonished at how small you can get a .50 to group with the right components. Make sure to get some Montana Extreme 50BMG Solvent. It is the strongest copper-remover out there, and it really speeds up the bore cleaning process on big, overbore super-velocity guns. If you would like, come by with your BFG and we'll do a thorough cleaning (I have about a gallon of the stuff, plus all the necessary 50 BMG cleaning/maintenance tools) and I can show you what you'll need in the future.

One day I'll have to take this 50BMG out. Stock photo sent by Mark Serbu when it was built.

Is BFG an acronym for Big F***in' Gun?
