possibly dumb new guy question. AR stuff

I'm familiar with shooting bolt action rifles, and generally agree with the " you get what you pay for" philosophy, but I was wanting to buy an AR, and was wondering if i, as a guy who enjoys going out and shooting from a bench at the range, (100-200yds usually) would really find a big difference between a RRA 20" barrel rifle and one made by one of the high end builders such as Noveske?
    Thanks, Jeff

From what I hear from people that actually have rra stuff it's pretty good stuff. For your application I'd say it's just fine.

I think you would be perfectly happy with the RRA setup. I'd go that route if I had the same shooting parameters...

I have a Delton build that shoots .75" (5rounds) at 200 using my hand loads.

A quality RRA, Bushmaster, DPMS, Spikes, CMMG will go boom when you need it to. They are good for more than "plinking". Don't buy into the hype. Ford Vs Chevy in most cases.

I think RRA is actually a pretty good brand. I've got an RRA 16" upper on my AR, and it is great.

If you don't plan on running the gun hard then a RRA will serve you just fine, I enjoy mine, However I plan on building a BCM carbine for hard use, schools and stuff.

Do you want to just shoot at 100-200 yards or do you want to shoot little bitty groups at 100-200 yards?

If the latter, get a Krieger, White Oak Armament etc barrel.

Ah! Thanks for all the responses! Like most folks I do prefer the bitty little groups.
