    M1A bolt problem

Never mind I figured it out as soon as I posted... after spending 45 minutes on it.

The bolt doesn't usually give me trouble, it's the op rod that sometimes drives me crazy! Sometimes it lifts right out of there, and other times, you can be perfectly aligned with the little notch, and nothing doing. Gah!

this happens to me everytime I take my M1 carbine together. I mess with it for about and hour and all of the sudden the stupid thing goes together as easy as pie

It's funny how you can forget something, then remember how to do it right, and suddently it's no longer a problem.

I had an M1A recently where I was trying to put the magazine in and just could not get it to lock up. Guys in the shop were all grinning and making snide remarks. Then one of the old timers leans over and says, "left hand, you never did put 'em in with your right, did you?" Day'm! That simple! Just held the rifle in my right and the mag in my left and it was like remembering to walk again.

That bolt is just one of those little finger puzzles in life and you get the satisfaction of learning it all over by yourself. Enjoy!
