Look what Recycling can buy You - My first AR build

So about a year ago I went to Costco and bought 2 cases of water priced at $4.49 each. I looked at the receipt and realized that I paid $4 in CRV! WTF?! Seriously?!

That's when I decided to save all cans, bottles, etc. and instead of dumping them into the blue bin for pick up, I started to cash them in once a month. I also got my alcoholic neighbors to save their cans and bottles for me as well.

So I got about $20-$24 each month from recycling, and here is what I turned it into: JD lower with laser engraving - BIG Thanks to those Guys! DD LPK as well as mil-spec stock with hardware, and BB (not pictured)

And here is what a very good friend of mine hooked me up with. All free!

Complete DD M4v3 upper is coming tomorrow! WOOT! - For that one I sold hundreds of Hot Wheels that were taking up space in my garage and I figured that I'll just keep the Mustangs and sell everything else and turn it into something that I'm actually going it use Yes, I collect Hot Wheels and some other brands, mostly Mustangs now.

    nice
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

What is the engraving of? It reminds me of the assassin brotherhood map icon from the Assassin's Creed games.

Similar, but this one was around long before Volcom was founded.

That's right! "Destruction is the way of life. Destruction, mayhem, havoc, strife." When I lived in NJ, they played about once every couple of months and I went to every show. I figured what better place to put Over Kill logo than side of an AR

Awsome on your part to recycle.. But making a 100 bucks every 5 months is way too long for me.. I'll pay the 100$ now and get my parts that very day hahaha

Dammit. And I have been letting my housemate take the recycling in. Screw that. From hence forth this will be my way around the moratorium on gun purchases.

It's just an added bonus when you don't have to come up with money outta pocket.
For example, I turned in some cans,($45 worth) sold some scrap metal ($55 worth) and that just about paid for my stripped lower. I had to come up with $19 outta pocket so not a big deal. Could I have just went and paid for it cash? Yes but that's not as fun.

Also I just sold over $1,000 of Legos I had taking up space and that will take care of a decent upper and get my AK project going.

I also recycle but not for the stupid planet, I do it to get back the robbery I call CRV.

With 1k worth of legos, you either had a bomb-*** childhood or you are a legos genius. Either way, that is rad and a photo is needed!

                              OP,
                              Great job, you're an inspiration.

I have a 1quart paint mixing cup that I throw pocket change and any loose singles into along with a cdr plastic cover that I throw pennies into to supplement my gun hobby. After almost a year of occasionally tossing change in the cups, they filled up sometime around last thanks giving, to my shock it was over $200- more stuff for me.

I've been thinking the same about the cans and bottles I just put in the blue bin, figure they'd at least pay for 1k rounds of ammo per year. I might just do this now, thanks to your post.
