Im trying to order one, dealers are telling me they are illegal, but nowhere can i find legislation making them illegal. The only buns on the list as the bushmaster Assault Rifle and the XM15 series. I called DOJ and they told me to look at the list, so i did when i called back they were closed. Expecting a call from them on friday. So whats the deal? Anyone have one? Anyone know where the grey area is coming from?

Which dealer are you trying to order from? Maybe they just mean in the standard configuration.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19 -
i believe that bushmaster is listed specifically on the assault weapons ban therefore even with a bullet button, you cannot get the rifle. you would need to put the upper on a different lower

As i was told on the phone by CA DOJ.
Go here:
http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/
Click on "Forms and Publications"
Scroll down to "Publications:"
Then Open "http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/awguide.pdf"
So i did. "If it's not listed on there then its okay to import. Any more questions call us back we close at 5:30"
Looked it up, i didn't see it. Let me know if you find it. I called them back b4 5, no one answered, so i left a message.
Thats all i know to be fact, straight from the horses mouth. If i get someone to say yes, then im getting a letter from them so my dealer's @$$ is covered and so everyone here can read it.Until then, your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Bushmaster does not like to change the lower's roll marks for different lines for the same caliber. I belive though the .308 lines are marked "Mod. Bushmaster .308".Comment

Further research shows they are marked LR 308 and thus can be imported, waiting to hear back from the horse on Friday to get the official word. But i called around today to a store that sells them, out of town of course, but he frequently sells them.Comment

I think its regardless of caliber. The name Bushmaster is on the list of AW/banned pistols.
