Handguard & Low Profile Gas Block

Anyone happen to know how far (if any) a Larue low-profile gas block (model LT202-1) would extend past a Midwest Industries T9 handguard? I'm looking to install the T9 on my 16" mid-length.

The Larue LT202 replaces your front sight block.

Used in conjunction with the MI T9 rail, it will be visible

Are you looking to have a hand guard completely envelope the gas block so it won't be visible ala "dissipator look"

if the handrail is only 9" then No, it will not cover the gas block. the entire gas block will be exposed. You will need closer to an 11" rail to completely cover it.

At first I didn't like the look of the protruding gas block, but after I've seen a few photos of them, I like the appearance. It gives it a "tapered-down" look. I suppose it depends on how far or short it extends and if it will cover the area on my barrel that's not parkerized. I've attached a .pdf showing what I'm going for...

From what I understand, the Larue low-profiles are known to cover the unfinished section under the original front sight block.
