Agreed! Definitely wait for the new BCM uppers to be in stock. Also, try to see if you can find an upper without the standard front sight. Look for an upper that comes with a low profile gas block. That way, the gas block will fit underneath the handguard you want to install and then you can put flip up front sights on the front of the handguard rail.

I'll bet if you called Riflegear they would work with you on any upper you want built and give you a better deal than you'll find elsewhere. They really do have great customer service. Give 'em a call - you got nothing to lose!

Im lookin to build my AR with features. Can I have a 14.5" barrel with a permanently installed flash hider or muzzle break in CA with features? Im looking at one from stag arms

I know it says LE/ SBR but at the bottom of the page it says something about installing the flash hider and not having to go thru the FFL paperwork.

Is it even possible to run a 14.5" upper in CA with features or do I have to go with a 16" upper?

              Please help, im lost!

              Thanks guys

Do I need a muzzle break instead of a flash hider or are they considered the same thing?

I didnt realize that with a 14.5" upper and muzzle break welded on it that I couldnt change anything on it unless the muzzle break comes off. I guess im gonna go with a 16" upper, most likely from rifle gear unless the gun show coming up next month has some good deals

just know that the BCM is around the same price as the riflegear but the bcm doesnt come with a bolt carrier group or charging handle(which will cost you over $150.

This is what I went with after some folks on Ar15.com recommended it:

Great upper for the price and it includes everything including BCG, MOE handguards and a new buffer.

Thats a nice upper! Just wish I could get it without the permanent front sight. I would like to have front/rear flip up sights.

What don't you like about the fixed front sight?

More options without it I guess. I have a few friends with AR's and they wished theirs didnt have one.

I really like the looks of that spikes upper that was just posted, wish it wasnt out of stock....

If you really like the upper, you can always get it with the fixed front sight and then change later if you want. It's not permanent.

What about the muzzle break being pinned/welded? Doesnt that being like that make it so some parts arent able to come off the barrel?
