    Minimum overall length?

Ok, is there a minimum length for a single shot rifle, aside from the 16"barrel length? And if there is, is it a federal or state limit? Just curious, as my soon-to-be 6 year old is itty-bitty, and even a Crickett has a LOP that is too long for her. I would like to get an extra stock to cut down for her to use for the next year or two.

Any rifle that is not a semi-auto centerfire rifle = 26" minimum OAL

And both Federal and California law have the limit.

but they measure differently. CA it is fully collapsed, federal its fully extended to meet the minimum length.

Thats kind of misleading. CA measures at its shortest functional length. Thats why SU16 and the Sub2000 are fine in their folded positions, but when functional they must meet the OAL requirements.

Don't worry. She'll grow into that stock before you know it! I know my son did. It's great to see 'em learn.

She is a midget, I swear. My wife is 5'2" on a good day. The youngest seems to have inherited that. I'll have to go measure the stock, but I don't know how much shorter I can get it.

correct- ever had those moments when your mind is thinking one thing and you type something different? I meant to type that functional length is involved.

                  Thanks for clarifying.
