    Happiness is an M1A

    Gentlemen, I just acquired a SOCOM 16. Won't be able to pick it up until the 11th,(Limited dealer hours) But thats, o.k. I have another M1A. I have a friend that has one and he says that the muzzle brake is very effective. I keep hearing people complaining about Semi-auto accuracy. I don't know why. Unless you are a sniper or a Varminter, you don't need M.O.A. With hand loads it likes, my bush rifle consistantly produces 5 round groups of 1.5 to 1.75 inches at 100 yards. How tight do you need to be, in what essentially is a battle rifle? Well, anyway, I'm happy with it.

    Awesome, I love my M1A

    This is from my first time shooting anything at 100 yards. The gun is far more accurate than I even with the crappy imported surplus ammo I feed her.

    Respect all, fear none.

                  Anyone know where I can get a tiger stripe camo job done to an M1A stock? I picked up a USGI synthetic stock I want painted and don't want to do it myself.

                        Bah Prc go the full 9 and get a JAE-100! :P If the day ever comes where I can somehow fit an M14/M1A into my collection, I will be buying a JAE-100 BEFORE I even get the M14.

                        When I first got into shooting, the 3 rifle designs I absolutely fell in love with, and made me so passionate about rifles and precision shooting were;

                        M14 in a JAE-100
                        Accuracy International AW Series
                        6.5 Grendel AR-15 w/ POF railed Fore-end & Magpul PRS

                        I almost have 1 of those rifles completed The next goal will be to somehow get the other 2!

                          I would like to use my iron sights. All the reading I have done says the JAE-100 is a bench stock and not good for iron sights. My next M1A/M14 will be in a JAE-100 probably. I keep reading mixed reviews toward that stock.

                            That sounds like a really good list!

                            I currently have a similar one:

                            - M1A in a JAE-100: (Have the M1A & JAE-100; awaiting a Krieger Barrel & off it all goes to GAP to be put together.

                            - Remington 700P in .308 & 300WM wearing AICS 2.0 stocks: (Done)

                            - 24" or 26" 6.5 Grendel Upper with Larue 13.2 HG & Magpul PRS for my existing Armalite lower: (Have the lower finished but haven't decided on the upper... Go custom or get a Les Baer & modify it ? )

                              Shooting with iron sight, as long as you can see the target you'll hit it.
                              I'm planning to scope my M1a so i could shoot it at 300 yrds up.It's hard to see that far with a 42 year old eye sight.
