    Heed help with scope mounting.

Just got an MR1 Banelli. Want to mount a scope. ( it comes with weaver type rail).

Does anyone make QUALITY see thru rings that would let me use my sights???

Or is it better to have a mount that I can remove ?

I like scopes mounted as low as possible so see thru rings aren't an option for me. I'd get quick detach mounts.

Ok. So what is the best set up to mount a fixed 6 power , 1", with 36 or 40mm objective? Thank You .

A scope should be mounted as close to the axis of the bore as possible. Lower magnification scopes are faster to get on target than iron sights and todays scopes are very reliable. Scope over sight rings were common in the '70's & 80's but I don't see any advantage with using see thru rings.

            Low cost and simple

There are several other manufacturers that make QD mounts

So for an MR1, what is an ideal set up? I DO want an option of using my sights too.

Detachable rings? Price is not an issue , since I already spend a lot on the rifle.
Detachable rings? Or a detachable mount?

Go with detachable rings, the mount attaches to the reciever of your Benelli with four screws and would not be easily detachable.

Midway USA and youtube have some scope mounting videos that can help.

Go with quick detachable rings. I have Talley QD rings on my 375 H&H but a lot of people like Leupold.
