Calif. Legal Parts For Beretta CX4 Storm

    Hey guys,
I'm looking to pick up a Beretta CX4 Storm and make it California legal, or that's my hope anyway. Can anyone point me to a bullet button for this carbine or an aftermarket stock that's cali. legal. I've seen the hole fillers for the OE stock and I don't care for those at all.

    TIA!

To my knowledge it hasn't been done. If there are any legal non-AW ones here they likely had their thumbole's plugged because that would be much easier, cheaper, and quicker than fabricating a mag locking device.

If you have someone out of state it shouldn't be too hard to just trim the magazine release button until it is more inside the grip. Or you could do it yourself if you can convince someone to ship the barreled receiver to an FFL and rest to you.

      Hey Josh,

Thanks for the post! I don't understand much about what's legal and what's not. I do have a supplier willing to ship separate parts. IF I can trim the mag. release button and get that to work, do I still have to lengthen the barrel or overall length of the gun or anything else to bring it into complete compliance?

      Thanks!

Basically you want the button trimmed down enough so that your finger cannot actuate it. Unfortunatly my only expereince with these rifles is playing with one in Hawaii so I cannot say with 100% certainty it will work (though I can say they are great shooters). There is really very little design differences between push button releases so it should work. I know you can use that same trick with a Glock push button for instance. They are basically just a long plastic piece potruding from the hole through the grip, shortening it should do the trick. Like the Glock, it should be easy enough to remove the catch from the grip and shorten it to the appropriate length.

Looking at Wikipedia, it states the length is 29.7'' overall. It is Wikipedia, so it would be wise to measure it and decide for yourself what to do since the minimum length is 30''. It would actually be pretty cool IMO to thread the barrel and put on a birdcage style flash hider. I think the fake suppressors are kind of popular as well, but I am not that into those. All though it might be cool to thread the barrel and put on a fake suppressor that is threaded at the front (not all the way up front, because we woud want to add that .3'') so it would look like a suppressed, SBR.

I believe that Wiki length to be correct - 29.7. Aren't flash hiders a no-no though?

They are legal, as long as the semi-auto centerfire rifle does not use detachable magazines.

Beretta sells shims to make the buttstock on the CX4 longer. So, you can add shims to get it passed the minimum 30" overall length requirement.

You can purchase a stock extension spacer to bring it over the OAL of 30".

I purchased a Cx4 Storm .45 the other week. I'm in the process of having my out of state FFL make in CA compliant.

I would be very interested in seeing what was done to yours, pictures would be cool too when you get it. Can you tell who your FFL is? Could I do the same through him?

Tourette's much? Also, I think you intended to post that in the other thread with the video of the soldiers. (sorry to hear about your BIL)

I don't think that would be a go. It looks to me like the grip would still be below the trigger group (I forget the exact wording, but essentially that's what it means.)
