    Saigas back in stock...sort of.

Riflegear has Saigas once again and they are the "Legion" marked Saigas which I guess from what I've read are a step above the standard Saigas and somehow "purists" prefer them more than the standard Saigas, so get one while you can. Got mine today.

I was told that the last time they had Saigas were 9 months ago. I called around and all lgs are out of stock and have no idea when they are going to get some. This included Ammo Bros who is a Saiga dealer.

I have heard there hasn't been a shipment from Russian in a long while and they are drying up, could be wrong.

What is the Legions thing all about?

ETA: So they have precut holes and a threaded barrel? Closer to the military version?

Saiga forum talks about it. Google Saiga mark differences and it will lead you to that forum. Built by Legion limited in Izshvesk Russia. Supposedly the special dept of Izhmash who builds the AK's for the Russian military itself and that they built these particular Saigas and have closer to Milspec parts and QC, etc.

I googled the differences and that is what I got.
So does yours have the threaded barrel and predrilled holes? That is the only thing I really care about on the legions.

If they got them in, that means everyone will likely be getting them in soon.

How much did they charge you? Out the door cost?

I'm going to assume $400 (this is the base price) + $40 tax + $25 DROS.

                      $465.

Yup! Riflegear has the 7.62x39 for $399 and the 5.45 for $389. I called other shops today to see if everyone was gonna be getting them. No one else even knows when the next shipment will be. Someone at Riflegear told me they got lucky and found this shipment and jumped all over it. Surprised they are'nt hiking upt heir price since Saigas are hard to find lately and in demand. They also had SCARS, SL8, and ACR's in stock.

Legion USA is the name of the importer. There has been some shifting around of the importers - from Russian American Armory, to Mercury Hermes, and now Legion USA. As far as I know the rifle is the same, other than the name of the importer.

                          Check this out:

It appears that Legion USA is a US office of Izhmash. Perhaps this will mean some stability in the supply going forward.

Wow, I wish I never sold my Saiga. The Saiga with those wooden furniture is heavy. So Legion USA is importing them from Legion Limited in Russia. The Legion Saigas were monopolized by Arsenal/KVar and that's what they used to build their SGL line. Legion USA is now the importer and not RAA so everyone else can now get a Legion Saiga without going through Arsenal, lol. Too bad Riflegear is not too close to me.

BTW, does anybody make 10/20 or 10/30 Saiga mags for the 7.62x39?
