    Quick linked belt question

I know I know, another hi-cap / linked belt question feel free to sigh and groan now, but I wasn't able to find this specific question answered in my search. I currently have belts from before 2000 of varying lengths and when I shoot them, I don't let them go below 11 rounds and relink them to the same length (A CYA measure).

Now, question is, one of my 100rd belts, can I break that down into 2x 50rd belts, or would that be considered manufacturing a high capacity ammunition feeding device since the end result technically is more belts than I previously had, or would it be a kosher move?

My opinion, i would say it doesnt matter since you legally own them, so you can do whatever you want. but, thats just my opinion....

If me making a dummy bullet belt is manufacturing then I think making two belts would also be, since you have more than you started with. A high cap mag/belt is a high cap mag/belt, doesnt matter if 11 or 100 but when you start with one and now you have two probably not good.

Since we're on this, is a belt of 11 dummy rounds legal to load with live ammo?
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Thanks for the input, looks like I was right in my CYA methods.

It's an ammunition feeding device whether it holds dummy rounds or live rounds.

                To the OP:

If you're talking about disintegrating links rather than a cloth belt, it would be impossible for anyone to prove you are either in compliance with the law......or out of it.
