The M16A2 was not around during the Vietnam war. I do know M16A1 parts kits are available for $499. That is every piece except the lower receiver.

        The mid '80s.

The product improvement M16A1E1 was officially type classified as the M16A2 in September 1982 and adopted as standard in November 1983.

Which means the troops didn't see it until the 90's. We were still qualifying on the 1911, and M14 in the mid 90's years after the M9, M16's were adopted.

So the real question is, what shape is it in, is it a complete upper, with barrel/bcg/handguards.

The M16A1 kits that recently hit the market were like NEW, came with a new in white barrel from Citidel and the rest were colt parts. The kits were right at $500, and even included a "new style M7" colt bayonet.

AND the barrel, you get either no barrel kits for 399 or a new in the white barrel in the kits for 499 anyplace you can find them...

I would say around $400-$450 would be fair if the barrel is relatively unused.

The Model 610 was classified as the XM177[3] but adopted by the Air Force as the GAU-5/A Submachine Gun (GAU = Gun, Aircraft, Unit.) The Army purchased 2,815 Model 609 CAR-15 Commandos on June 28, 1966, which were officially designated Submachine Gun, 5.56 mm, XM177E1. - Wikipedia

^^ made in 1985 is a very good guess.
