An AR-10 is chambered in longer cartridges, like the .308, and the AR-15 is chambered in shorter cartridges like the .223. The AR-10 magazine well is larger to accommodate the larger rounds.

I know I've been playing with my 5.56 for a month and havnt touched my 7.62 loads in for ever.. When I pulled it out I was like WTF! did someone switch out my hand loads with magnums lol
I forgot how big they were and got use to handling the 5.56 rounds.
Im almost scared to shoot my 700 now
