model 700 cdl

ive got a model 700 cdl in .270 win and have been looking up and down for an aftermarket stock but all i can fnd is for the bdl.. are these built on the same platform?

sencond question is ive heard of people losing the drop plate and making it accept detachable mags... has anyone done this conversion? i just cant find much info on these rifles.

Get a screw driver, flip the rifle over, and remove the two screws holding the bottom metal in place. Slowly remove barreled action from the stock and spend some time inspecting the barreled action and how it all fits together. After three precision rifles built on 700 platforms, that's the best advice I can give to someone on 700 #1.

Bolt guns are remarkably basic and easy to understand once you can see and interact with the guts of one. Everything will make more sense once you are familiar with the basic architecture.

the only thing that makes a ...cdl.. is the stock

So basically built on same platform just different stocks make the model. Where would I pickup .270 mags for it?
