    11.5 inch barrel

I'm looking to get an 11.5 inch barrel then blind pin and welding on a fake can. Will I have any problems shipping the 11.5 inch barrel (CMMG) to CA?

I believe that the barrel must be 16 inches, not including any attachments.

its not gonna be a problem. because you can build ar pistols with no problem and i know you wouldnt use 16" barrel for that! you shouldnt have a problem

            GVShooter,

Your fine as long as the factory (CMMG) pre-welds a permanent fake can on in addition the barrel (5.5"). Then they can ship it to California. I have a version like the one you want BUT it has an extra long 5 1/2" flash surpressor on it welded to make it legal. When I asked them about those same issues they said they won't sell me less than California legal uppers if you live there.

Some companies will not send an upper shorter than 16 to California unless you prove you have a handgun its going on. Not sure if CMMG is this way or not.

Under CA law, yes, as long as the seller is willing to ship.

Under Federal law, maybe. There is the issue of constructive possession of SBR.
You either must have a pistol lower or no AR lower for this to be okay.
Otherwise, you need it to be >= 16" before you have possession.
