    Trijicon Reflex/RMR

Anyone tried one of these units? I've been on optics planet checking this things out and they both seem to be within the same price (varying MOA dots). I have there night sights and from what I'm told there made domestically. It's for a Saiga.

They are OK, I dont care for the reflex... it is an amber dot and washes out a decent amount when shooting in the desert area, very hard to pick up at night as well. I would get a used aimpoint before reflex.. MHO

The rmr is different from the reflex, the rmr is much brighter and does not wash out like the old reflex. The rmr is also offered in an led version that is a red dot and is much brighter, toolfreak66 has one for sale for a killer price.

Here is my dual illum model in a dim room.....

Yea the RMR does look a bit more appealing. Is only the LED version practical? I found on optics planet, RMR's with the mounts under 500 but the LED version is actually over 500, and thats without a mount. The description confused me too, is it based entirely on battery or tritium?

And that pic looks awesome, I'm going to end up mounting it where the side mount is though. Hopefully that should work good.

I never spoke Ill of the RMR, I am not a reflex fan. I have no experience with the RMR, therefore I have no comment regarding the sight.

Either is practical depending on shooting conditions, the dual illum is not bright in complete darkness where the led version is. The dual illum model uses fiber optics and tritium as where the led uses only battery. I do not do any night time shooting and the gun the rmr is mounted to is not a HD weapon so the dual illum model works for me.

I just picked up a reflex, and I too had heard about the tendency for washouts. I've not actually taken it out to the range, but I've put it through every type of bad lighting scenario I can think of dark into light, etc. and the only time I could get it to wash out was directly at a bright light source like an interior can light or bare bulb. Now, I did order the RX01NSN which has the 4moa dot and a polarized filter that really helps keep the dot visible in bright light. The adapter itself screws into the front of the reflex and as you twist it the polarizing adjusts the amount of light that gets through the front of the reticle. You can actually black it out completely to really test out that BAC. It's available separately from them as well for 20 bucks or so. I don't have any experience with the RMR so I can't speak to that. I will say that an ultimak would be a much better mount to use with that one though. The side mount would be better for the reflex, I think.

I used a Reflex yesterday at the range on a bright sunny desert day and i could easily pick out the dot against light colored dirt. But i remember the dot being red, not orange so maybe it was different? It was a fiberoptic sight not the electric ones.
