    Little help needed. Some questions.

So I am building a light weight build. I got a mega lower and upper receivers from Midwest PX group buy.

I am planning on getting a 14.5" Mid length gas system barrel. I was looking at getting a BCM. They seem to only have the 14.5 ML in stripped. Do they come with notches cut out for the FSB retaining pins?

I have a front sight block and round hand guard cap from a rifle I took off. I read that mid length gas systems usually use triangle hand guard caps. What is the difference? And how does the hand guard cap stay in place when installed?

stripped barrels do not come with notches, if you want to attach your FSB, you'll need to have them drilled for you by a gunsmith.

round caps come off of carbine handguards, triangle ones are off rifle and midlength handguards. the difference is that carbine handguards are round at the ends and rifle and middy guards are triangular shaped. handguard caps stay in place with the help of the pressure of being pressed up against the FSB when the handguard is installed.

I know round handguard caps are around dude :P

Does it matter? Do i need to get a triangle cap or can I just use my round one?

I plan to use the MOE Mid length hand guards and the ends that fit in the hand guard cap look round so I am thinking my round cap will work perfect.
