PLEASE help with identifying this SKS!

i recieved this SKS from a friend in really rough condition. it was still covered in the preservative oil gunked up on it. I stripped the rifle down completely and cleaned it. it is looking good and i refiished the stock which may devalue it but looks better. it is stamped 1960 as the year of manufacture as you will see in the pictures. I am only guessing when i say i might be romanian do to the wood on the stock.

also I am debating selling it so with a 1960 stamp is it C&R??? and what would you guys value it as.

I really appreciate the time anyone takes to reply and help with my questions.

it looks romanian next to the serial number there is a faint triangle. it should be C&R.

Thanks guys for the replies. actually what i got out of triggs reference was that i did not have one of the rifle's pictured. the closest was the romanian. so i googled romanian sks's and i found a picture of one that looked identicle to mine. the only odd thing is that it appears most romanian sks's have a darker wood stock. I am a glock guy and an ar guy. maybe thats why I am so confused haha. thanks again. any other comments would be appreciated.

Did I devalue the gun with the refinishing of the stock? Or are these too abundant to be a collectable?

                Stock

Yes, you devalued it a bit, but they are so common that you didn't really affect the price that much. Fair price would be between $300-$350.

I'm a big fan of SKS's and always looking for another one. PM me if you're inclined to sell.

                  SkS rifles are great.
Value is around 300 to 350.

Romanian for sure. All matching? A Romanian should have the SN stamped in the following
                    1. Receiver (Of course)
                    2. Bolt carrier
                    3. Bolt
                    4. Top Cover
                    5. Magazine
                    6. Trigger guard.
                    7. Stock. You might hav sanded this away when you refinsihed the stock.

It dropped the value when you refinished, however good looking all matching Romanians are hard to find. I agree with the $300-$350 price range.

It is a verified C&R as of Jan 1, 2011! You are good to go!

yes all numbers are matching. I probably did sand away the stock serial number. Thanks prince50 for the reply.
